Welcome to my site. Over the last 5 or so years I have struggled with severe depression and anxiety. Although I am on medication and it does help, I’m always looking for natural and affective ways to improve my state of being and striving to stay in a place of happiness.
One of the biggest problems that I started noticing a while back was that I become incredibly melancholy and depressed as the days get shorter and the temperatures get colder. What I didn’t realize was that I actually suffered from something called Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD for short (which is very appropriate).
For a long time I couldn’t believe that this was actually a thing, but on one day after going through about 2 weeks of staying bed ridden do to my depression I met with my nurse practitioner who proposed the idea to me that I might be one of the few who actually suffer from seasonal depression.
For a long time I wrote this off and repeated the mistake of not taking any kind of action and every year I paid for it. Finally, I wanted to do something about my problem and I stumbled upon a lot of interesting information and research in books and online.
One of the solutions was to get more sunlight, but how do you do this when the sun goes down at 5 P.M. in the dead of winter? well it turns out there are devices known as SAD lights that artificially recreate something similar to sunlight and that they have been known to be quite affective in helping people through the most difficult parts of the year.
Not only this but my research led me to a lot of other natural solutions and suggestions as well. I became so passionate about this subject and helping others that I decided to launch this website to get the right information in front of the people who need it most.
So I hope this helps you in your quest for answers and please take a look around, because there is a lot of good information that I have put together on this site for you to learn from.
